Start Date: Early April, but can consider later if you have to work a notice period.
Overview:
A busy family with three young children is looking for a proactive and organized individual to manage the daily operations of our home. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in a well-run household, enjoys cooking fresh meals, and is looking for a family to work with for many years to come.
Primary Responsibilities:
Housekeeping & Tidying: Daily upkeep of communal areas, ensuring the home remains organized and clutter-free. There will be a weekly cleaner separate to this role, but being ok doing some cleaning would be useful.
Laundry & Wardrobe Management: Managing the full laundry cycle, including washing, drying, and putting clothes away. We usually don't have ironing to do but being able to do that when needed would be useful.
Cooking: Planning and preparing healthy, fresh meals for the family for lunch and dinner.
Ad-hoc Support: Occasional childcare (1–2 hours) for children aged 5, 3, and 1, only when required.
Candidate Requirements:
Experience in private household management or professional housekeeping and able to provide a reference.
High standard of cleanliness and attention to detail.
Confident cook capable of preparing family-friendly meals. You don't need to be a Michelin star chef. Ideally you have a few set meals you know how to prepare, know the basics of cooking (eg cooking meat correctly, boiling vegetables) and are prepared to learn more on the job with instruction. Friday evening we like to enjoy a roast chicken dinner. Sample meals might include spaghetti bolognese, sausage and mash, macaroni cheese, with some cooked vegetables.
Comfortable around young children and happy to step in for short periods if needed.
Legal right to work in the UK and a clear DBS check.
Terms:
This is a direct-hire position. The successful candidate will be employed by the family on a PAYE basis, including holiday pay.
