Hays Belfast is working in partnership with one of Northern Ireland’s largest housing associations in their search for a Maintenance Officer (Water Hygiene). This organisation provides care and support to over 30,000 homes across Northern Ireland, along with a development programme to deliver high-quality, sustainable homes.
Your new role
This is a permanent position based in Holywood, Co. Down. You will report to the Building Safety Manager and be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the water hygiene service across various tasks including response, planned maintenance, servicing, cyclical maintenance, and refurbishment of existing properties. Key duties include:
1. Oversee and coordinate the water hygiene servicing programme for all properties, including Legionella Risk Assessments, planned and response maintenance, and remedial works.
2. Conduct site inspections to ensure quality and service standards are met.
3. Lead on weekly water hygiene compliance data and include it in the compliance report.
4. Check and approve invoices for work completed, managing costs effectively.
5. Monitor and report on expenditure against the budget as directed.

What you'll need to succeed
To be eligible, you must meet one of the following criteria:
* Level 5 qualification (HND) or above in a related discipline such as Estate Management, Building Surveying, Construction, or Engineering, with at least 18 months of relevant experience in a construction or maintenance environment.
* Or, five years of relevant experience within the last 8 years in a construction or maintenance environment.
Additionally, you should have:
* Experience delivering water hygiene services in line with The HSENI Approved Code of Practice: Legionnaires' disease: The control of Legionella bacteria in water systems (L8).
* A full UK driving license and access to suitable transportation.

Salary: £33,366 - £37,938 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
