As our company grows and develops, we are ever expanding our teams. We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Associate to join our Advisory Division.
SOCOTEC Advisory is a chartered quantity surveying and expert witness consultancy, renowned for its team of industry-recognised experts and delivery of robust and quality services. Our team is made up of approximately 60 Quantity Surveyors with a broad spectrum of experience. This allows the delivery of services across most sectors, including residential, infrastructure and marine, in both public and private sectors and enables expertise to be shared across the company.
In this exciting position, you’ll work alongside our Associate Director and renowned industry experts, contributing to the preparation of comprehensive, well-researched reports that influence major construction disputes. You’ll gain invaluable experiences across multiple construction disciplines while developing specialised expertise in dispute analysis and documentation.

You should have and demonstrate strong skills in some or all of the following:
A developing professional with good competence in one or more construction disciplines. Well-organised individual with solid experience, good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within project teams.
Capable of supporting small disputes and assisting on medium to large disputes under supervision. Liaise with clients and solicitors when directed. Developing competence in NEC, JCT and FIDIC standard forms with growing experience in interpreting contract amendments.
Project Support:
* Support internal SOCOTEC expertise in producing competent project deliverables
* Assist in relationship building within the wider SOCOTEC group
* Contribute to cost estimates and efficient project management under guidance
* Work collaboratively within high-performing teams
Stakeholder Support:
* Assist in developing relationships with solicitors through events and meetings
* Support in maintaining relationships with clients, contractors and consultants
* Communicate effectively with project stakeholders under supervision
* Participate in meetings and presentations as directed
Expert Appointment Support:
* Assist in delivering project requirements under the direction of senior team members
* Support experts in project delivery and team coordination
* Apply technical knowledge to assist with various appointment types
* Contribute to dispute resolution strategies and processes
Site Investigation:
* Attend site investigations when requested under supervision
* Assist in preparing investigation Method Statements
* Support opening-up works coordination and execution
* Conduct basic survey work as directed
Compliance and Risk Management:
* Ensure activities comply with relevant regulations and standards
* Assist in identifying and mitigating project risks
* Stay informed of industry trends and best practices
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
* Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate construction discipline
* A minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant employment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
* Extensive experience in contract administration within the construction industry
* Strong knowledge of design procedures, construction mythologies and construction contracts
* Proven track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams
