We are currently seeking Lecturers to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of the BSc (Hons) Computing programme with our Bath Spa University partnership. Due to our delivery model, we require flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and at weekends. Please note this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver and assess student work, ensuring that all learning outcomes are met.
* Develop, update and improve course materials as appropriate.
* Use a range of learning and teaching methods and materials.
* Actively engage in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties.
* Stay current with latest developments in your field and student support practices.
* Work towards clearly defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and student progression.
Qualifications
* Hold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable).
* Have previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area.
* Demonstrate extensive knowledge of two or more of the following: programming and software development, web development, database systems, cloud computing, networking, cybersecurity, IoT and emerging technologies, business IT systems, IT management, AI and machine learning, operating systems, UI/UX.
* Have experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.
* Have experience of accurate reporting and ability to maintain thorough and organised student records.
* Be able to work under pressure, plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines.
* Show excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills.
* Be able to work with diverse groups of people.
Desirable
* Hold a Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification, or be committed to enrolling on a teaching programme during the probationary period and completing it within three years, or hold Fellowship of HEA or international equivalent.
* Have experience designing and developing academic or professional education programmes.
