The Reactor Services Technician is responsible for basic aspects of power plant mechanical maintenance. Experience performing reactor vessel disassembly and reassembly, dry fuel storage, rigging, crane operation, and equipment preventative maintenance work while not required is highly desirable. The ability to function as part of a team in performing high quality maintenance and repair of nuclear plant equipment and ability to perform independent work is required.Duties and Responsibilities:Develop proficiency in rigging and lifting and other mechanical maintenance functionsGain general knowledge of equipment maintenance procedures, instruction manuals, drawings, codes & other job requirementsRead and interpret basic mechanical drawings, work orders, and/or plansMaintain good housekeeping standards on a continual basis and ensure no reportable incidents regarding housekeeping occur within the area of responsibilityDevelop proficiency in the proper use of machine shop tools, and personal computersUtilize the corrective action program, clearance program, and the work order processing systemUnderstand and follow all applicable safety and environmental policiesWorking Conditions:Work extended hours and various shifts\Work in Respirators and/or PAPR’sClimb ladders and stairsWork at heightsMay be required to work weekends, overtime or be on-call to support plantBasic/Required Qualifications:Nuclear Reactor Technician IHigh School Diploma or GEDNuclear Reactor Technician IIHigh School Diploma or GEDOne and one-half (1½) years of directly related experience.Desired Qualifications:Two-year technical school degree electrical/electronic engineering technology or equivalent experience or training (e.g. Military)Experienced Fuel MoverElectrical work experiencePrior nuclear power plant experienceDemonstrated proficiency in computer skills (e-mail applications, word processes, spreadsheets, database, etc.Demonstrated leadership abilityDemonstrated diagnostic and analytical skillsPrior experience in rigging and liftingPrior experience in Reactor Head disassembly/reassembly activitiesPrior experience in Fuel Handling activitiesPrior experience in Dry Cask Storage ActivitiesSpecific Requirements:This role requires the use of weight rated equipment, with max ratings ranging from 275lbs to 325lbs, in order to meet the essential functions of the job.Ability to successfully pass the Power Plant Maintenance Positions Selection System (MASS) testAbility to successfully pass basic Maintenance TrainingAbility to gain and maintain nuclear accessAbility to gain and maintain Respirator/SCBA certificationMandatory hearing protection programAbility to lift 50 poundsRequires travel to support Fleet Outages and Dry Cask Campaigns (25-50%)Basic technical writing skills as well as basic computer skillsObtain and Maintain qualifications necessary to disassemble and reassemble a nuclear reactorObtain and Maintain qualifications necessary to move nuclear fuel and nuclear fuel componentsTravel Requirements5-15%Relocation Assistance Provided (as applicable)YesRepresented/Union PositionNoVisa Sponsored PositionNoPlease note that in order to be considered for this position, you must possess all of the basic/required qualifications.PrivacyDo Not Sell My Personal Information (CA)Terms of UseAccessibility
