We are looking for an experienced Employment Lawyer to join Talbots as a Director within our growing Employment Team with a view to growing our employment offering in the Stoke area of the business.
The ideal candidate will be a strong generalist with experience commensurate to that of 5+ years PQE with experience of dealing with the full range of HR and employment law matters. Experience of reviewing service provision, leadership / mentoring and a genuine interest in business development is essential with a view to maintain and further develop the employment law and HR service offering in the Stoke area.

What does the job involve?
* Advising employees and employers, on a wide range of employment problems including; grievance and disciplinary proceedings, redundancy selection and consultation, unfair and constructive dismissal, discrimination and harassment and TUPE;
* Providing guidance on a range of matters, such as contracts of employment, policies and handbooks, ill health absence and dismissals, unlawful deductions from wages, identifying employment status and restrictive covenant advice.
* Advising employees and employers upon Settlement Agreements.
* Acting for Claimants and Respondents in Employment Tribunal proceedings.
* Ensure compliance with SRA, Lexcel, Law Society Quality Scheme standards, SARs and accounting requirements.
What do you need?
* To have at least 5 years qualified experience as either a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive within employment, managing own caseload across a variety of matters.
* Passionate about leadership, mentoring and a genuine interest in business development.
* High level of attention to detail, excellent planning and organisation skills, confident with working to deadlines;
* Passionate about giving outstanding client care to clients and referrers with strong interpersonal skills, sensitivity, tact and diplomacy.
