We are proud to be a Hive HR Employee Voice Certified organisation and a strong culture of listening, learning, and continuous improvement. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Supported Living Home Manager to lead a newly opened complex supported living service at Hilsea, Portsmouth.
The service is a modern, purpose‑designed 7‑bedroom home with spacious communal areas and a large garden. We currently support young adults aged 20‑23 with a range of complex needs including autism, learning disabilities, epilepsy, sensory communication, and mental health challenges. The people we support are active, sociable, and proud of their independence.
Responsibilities
* Lead a skilled team including a Deputy Manager, 4 Advanced support workers and 20 Support Workers.
* Drive service performance and ensure compliance with CQC standards.
* Promote a positive, inclusive, and person‑centred culture.
* Implement and oversee Positive Behaviour Support strategies.
* Ensure all staff are trained and confident in PBS, Makaton, trauma‑informed care, and active support.
* Support individuals with behaviours of concern using evidence‑based approaches.
* Foster independence, dignity, and meaningful community engagement.
* Develop person‑centred support plans and risk assessments.
Qualifications
* A Level 5 or above in Health & Social Care and a PBS qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
* Proven experience in managing complex services and supporting people with behaviours of concern.
* Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills.
* A person‑centred approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
* Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
* Resilience, professionalism and a passion for empowering others.
* Confidence in working collaboratively with other health professionals and external parties.
