The Software & Data Installation Technician is responsible for the successful deployment of software solutions for customers, from initial installation through to go‑live and handover. The role involves installing and configuring applications, completing associated data builds, and delivering solutions both remotely and on customer sites as required. Working closely with customers and internal teams, the consultant ensures implementations are accurate, reliable and aligned with agreed requirements and timelines. The role also includes thoroughly testing software to confirm it is operating as expected, identifying and resolving issues prior to handover. Clear and detailed documentation is a core requirement, including the preparation of customer sign‑off materials and comprehensive handover documentation for Support teams. The Software & Data Installation Technician plays a key role in ensuring a smooth transition from delivery into ongoing support, contributing to a high‑quality customer experience and long‑term solution success. This position works closely with Professional Services, Product Management, Support, and external partners to deliver high-quality customizations and integrations that increase customer value and adoption. The ideal candidate for this role would be based within commutable distance of Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside. Responsibilities Install, configure and deploy software solutions, including associated data builds, both remotely and on customer sites as required Deliver end‑to‑end implementations, ensuring solutions are set up accurately and in line with agreed customer requirements and timelines Test software thoroughly to confirm functionality and performance prior to go‑live Identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues arising during installation, testing or deployment Produce clear and accurate documentation, including customer sign‑off materials Prepare comprehensive handover documentation to enable a smooth transition to Support teams Work collaboratively with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure a high‑quality implementation experience Manage multiple implementations concurrently, maintaining strong organisation and attention to detail Maintain a professional, customer‑focused approach throughout the delivery process Skills, Knowledge & Expertise For this role, the key skills would typically include a balanced mix of technical capability, problem‑solving and communication skills, reflecting both the delivery and customer‑facing elements of the work. From a technical perspective, you would be expected to demonstrate experience in installing, configuring and testing software applications, with a good understanding of data builds and deployment processes. Strong troubleshooting skills are important, along with the ability to follow technical specifications and apply structured testing to ensure solutions meet agreed requirements. Familiarity with working both remotely and on customer sites, and confidence operating in different technical environments, would also be valuable. Equally important are documentation and communication skills. The role requires clear and accurate written documentation for customer sign‑off, as well as the ability to produce effective handover materials for Support teams. You should be comfortable explaining technical information to non‑technical stakeholders, working collaboratively with customers and colleagues, and managing tasks in an organised and methodical way.
