EQUANS are looking for a Grounds Operative to join our team in Blackburn for our Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital contract. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. A competitive salary and benefits package is on offer.

Responsibilities
* The hours for this role are 8 hours per day, totaling 40 hours per week.
* Represent EQUANS in a respectful and professional manner.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on grounds in accordance with the PPM programme and training.
* Respond promptly to ad-hoc breakdown requests as identified by the help desk/manager or as per site contract.
* Carry out minor upgrading and adaptation works.
* Work in accordance with safe working practices within statutory and Company guidelines.
* Safely operate equipment, hand and power tools per health & safety guidelines and training.
* Use personal protective equipment correctly and follow health & safety and infection control procedures.
* Maintain records as required, in written or electronic form.
* Be willing to assist and work flexibly with colleagues and contractor staff.
* Liaise with the trust to minimise disruption while carrying out work.
* Undertake training to learn and maintain skills and the service requirements.
* Carry out risk assessments on-site as instructed by your manager.
* Collaborate with colleagues to deliver a customer-focused service.
* Use initiative to make appropriate decisions, including out of hours.
* Complete all job cards and other work-related paperwork to required standard, electronically or on paper.
* Complete work within the allotted timeframes.
* Carry out other tasks commensurate with the role.
Requirements / Experience
* Previously worked in a general maintenance environment.
* Previously worked in a customer-facing role.
* Healthcare environment experience is desirable.
* Experience of computer-based task monitoring systems (CAFM) is desirable.
* Level 2 safe use of ride-on mowers is desirable.
* Pesticide Application Theory (PA1) is desirable.
* Pesticide Application Knapsack (PA6a) is desirable.
* Full driving licence.
