Following an internal promotion and at this pivotal time in our history, we are delighted to be recruiting a Director for Wales to provide a focal point for strategic leadership for our profession in Wales and across GB.
Our Director of Wales is visible and inspirational across the profession, bringing national policy to life for our members in Wales, working at a senior level using your networks and relationships to drive the profession forward
This is an exciting time to be joining us as RPS moves forward with our transition to become The Royal College of Pharmacy, a registered charity, and create a wholly owned commercial publishing subsidiary. As Director for Wales, together with your fellow Country Directors and wider colleagues, you will play a key role as part our leadership team in implementing the change programme.
Internally, you will inspire and develop a high-performing team helping them to deliver the Welsh Pharmacy Board work plan, our strategic goals, and to foster close cross-organisational working.
Key Requirements:
* Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
* Pharmacist with substantial post qualification experience at a senior level and broad experience or knowledge of more than one sector in pharmacy
* Knowledge of the Welsh health and social care systems – for example, Government, NHS, current and emerging policies and initiatives
* Strategic thinker, able to create a vision for the future and develop a roadmap to enable the organisation to progress from its current to future state and take people with you on the journey.
* An excellent, positive communicator, able to clearly articulate complex messages to varied audiences
* Experience of leading within an organisation at a senior level and demonstrable success providing leadership outside of traditional organisational boundaries
* Demonstrable track record of building and maintaining strong and positive relationships, and engaging people at all levels.

How we are currently working
While based at our Cardiff Office, you will work flexibly and attend the office only when the work requires you to be present, such as for collaboration activities or significant meetings, otherwise your time will be spent working remotely and frequently visiting locations across Wales to witness innovative practice at first hand or to meet with key stakeholders within the pharmacy profession and other healthcare disciplines.
