The Role:
New City College is the largest college group in East London, and our Havering Sixth Form Campus is a vibrant, friendly and welcoming place where staff play a vital role in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment. We are now recruiting two committed and professional Security Operatives to join our team. In this role, you will provide a visible and proactive presence across the campus, ensuring the safety, security and wellbeing of our students, staff and visitors. Your responsibilities will include patrolling the grounds, supporting positive behaviour, responding to incidents, and contributing to a secure and inclusive college community.
Key Responsibilities:
In this fast‑paced, people‑focused role, you’ll be at the heart of keeping our campus safe and running smoothly. From patrolling the grounds and keeping a close eye on CCTV, to opening up the site, securing buildings, and responding calmly to whatever the day brings, no two shifts are the same. You’ll play a key part in promoting positive behaviour, supporting emergency procedures, and jumping in with essential estates tasks like room setups and deliveries. First aid support is included too (with training provided), giving you the chance to make a real difference when it matters most.
