Your New RoleThis is a new role added to strengthen the Financial Accounting team from a tax perspective, assisting in the delivery of high quality financial reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities include:
1. Lead on tax, ensuring preparation of tax returns including VAT, CIS, Corporation Tax, Gift Aid and Employment Taxes.
2. Identify and implement tax planning opportunities.
3. Manage relationships with internal and external advisors and tax authorities, as required.
4. Support the Group with ad-hoc tax and technical accounting queries.
What You'll Need to Succeed
5. Full CCAB or CIMA qualification (or equivalent). Essential.
6. Experience with core tax areas such as VAT, CIS or Corporation Tax and the ability to interpret legislative changes.
7. Strong financial accounting experience gained in practice, industry, or the public/not‑for‑profit sector.
8. Solid understanding of UK accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.
9. Confident communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
10. Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
11. Experience with reconciliations and supporting month‑end activities.
Desirable:
12. Experience preparing group or consolidated accounts.
13. Prior exposure to operating in a public or not‑for‑profit environment such as housing, local or central government, or wider public services.
14. Experience supporting external audit processes.
