Our client is seeking a dedicated Firearms Enquiry Officer to join their team in Bodmin on a temporary full-time basis. Position Details
- Contract Type: Temporary
- Hourly Rate: £15.72
- Working Pattern: Full Time 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Hybrid
- Location: Bodmin
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough visits to applicants' premises to assess secure storage and provide crime prevention advice.
- Interview applicants to evaluate their suitability for holding a firearms certificate, with a focus on personal and family circumstances.
- Make informed decisions or recommendations on certificate applications, highlighting any concerns.
- Manage appointments diary via Outlook to accommodate applicants' needs effectively.
- Monitor changes in existing certificate holders' circumstances and take necessary actions to mitigate risks.
- Build positive relationships with certificate holders to foster trust and gather intelligence on illegal firearm usage.
- Conduct interviews and prepare case files for any breaches of certificate conditions.
- Provide specialist advice and guidance as needed.
Essential Criteria
- A full UK driving licence or the ability to travel.
- Significant investigative experience.
- Proficiency in IT, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
- A working knowledge of firearms legislation and practises.
- Proven decision-making skills and the ability to produce detailed reports.
