We have a r equirement for a Connections Designer to deliver projects for DNOs. To be based at either the DNO's premises or at our Colchester office. You will be proficient in: Design and costing of LV & 11kV (up to and including 132 kV) projects for new Connections, asset replacement, non-rechargeable and diversions Analysing network issues and performance problems, and propose technically sound and cost-effective solutions Analysing generation connections and issue jobs for Witness Testing Producing concise business cases in the correct format and present them for authorisation in a timely manner to deliver the Production Plan Determining the appropriate point of connection (POC) for new load and generation enquiries from LV up to and including 132 kV Undertaking site visits and meetings as necessary Ideally you will also be aware of: Electricity network regulations / NERS requirements DNO or Grid code for protection settings Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) requirements in the electricity industry You should have the following skills: Confident, motivated and dynamic Versatility – able to turn your hand to a wide range of proposals Good verbal and paper communication skills Working well under deadline pressure Self-assessment/critique Self-sufficient Required education and training: it is essential that as a minimum you possess an HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in electrical/electronic engineering or physics Incorporated Engineer/member of the IET/Chartered Engineer If you are interested, please submit your CV to https://energypeople.co.uk/careers/ and we will find a convenient time for an interview.
