If you identify with our vision and values and have the required knowledge, skills and qualifications as detailed below, we have a Childrens Residential Homes Manager vacancy for an EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) home that you may wish to apply for. The ideal candidate will have proven experience of working as a Registered Homes Manager or as an experienced Deputy Homes Manager, supporting and caring for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. There may be up to five young people, aged between 10 and 18 years of age and mixed gender living at the home who are unable for a variety of reasons to live with their families. You will be able to demonstrate passion, drive, commitment and skill to lead, inspire, manage and shape the future direction of a children’s home, ensuring that the physical, emotional, developmental and social needs of all young people are achieved to the highest standard. Working with professionals within Derby City Council and the care sector you will have a comprehensive understanding of the Childrens Homes Regulations, including Quality Standards 2015 and Ofsted’s Framework for Assessment, ensuring that the home is compliant with Ofsted regulations, legislation, procedures, policies and the Statement of Purpose: What would be expected of me as a Registered Manager? • Has an NVQ Level 3 in Children’s and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent or either have, or be working towards, the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare or equivalent • Have good IT skills • Has a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a position relevant to the residential care of children • Has the ability to resource manage • Has a strong working knowledge of the Children’s Homes regulations, health, and safety legislation, COSHH, and other relevant legislation • Has experience of working with and managing challenging behaviour including attachment and trauma • Has experience of managing relationships at multiple levels and with local authorities • Has excellent communication skills both verbal and written • Is flexible and adaptable, with a proven track record of working and managing conflicting priorities and challenges • Has the ability to work across and support the management of a 24/7 operation • Holds a full UK manual driving licence • Has the right to live and work in the UK You will be able to work quickly, efficiently and effectively under pressure and understand how to prioritise and delegate work appropriately.
