Overview
New Century Hall is looking for a dynamic and versatile Senior Event Manager to join the team.
The main objective of the role will be to assist the Operations Manager in leading all day-to-day operations smoothly, delivering first class events across a broad calendar of gigs, clubnights and private hires. It is important that this role be met with drive and ambition, with an aim to inspire, motivate and lead the team in this key management role, to bring to life a venue like no other.
Key Objectives and Responsibilities
* The Senior Event Manager must assist in all operational aspects of the site, providing direct support to the Operations Manager and deputising their role in their absence.
* In this role you must deliver customer satisfaction by maintaining an exceptional standard of service and professionalism whilst achieving profitability in line with budget.
* The Senior Event Manager has a key role in representing the company's best interest and must set high standards of personal presentation and behaviour at all times, leading by example.
* A positive attitude must be adopted towards teamwork, contributing to the smooth running of the premises, and interacting productively with other departments.
* The Senior Event Manager will lead a team of Event Managers; they must be prepared to manage, work with and train their team, providing support and guidance to all. This is all part of our commitment to developing our teams within the company.
* The Senior Event Manager will work closely and professionally with stakeholders, including security, cleaners, medics, contractors, security, police etc.
* The Senior Event Manager will typically work on most Live event days, acting as the point of call for all internal operations staff and external stakeholders.
* On non-event days, the Senior Event Manager will be preparing for future events - through forecasting, booking external contractors, training and developing staff or working on longer term projects.
Operational Duties
* The Senior Event Manager will solely be responsible for the Venue building when the Operations Manager is, for whatever reason, away from the Business.
* Follow and ensure all Company Policies and Procedures are adhered to, including managing your team members to complete all required processes. This includes, but is not limited to, Absence and Sickness Reporting, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Probation, Investigation and Disciplinaries and Accidents in the workplace.
* Manage administration including in house health and safety, shift management, employee administration, email administration, and accurate reporting to line managers.
* Monitor the cash flow in and out of the premises ensuring all irregularities are reported and investigated.
* Set department and individual objectives/ targets to staff and ensure they are met.
* Proactivity and competency in learning and utilising company-wide software including tills, HR, time and attendance and cloud based storage systems.
* Ensure, at all times, that the business is achieving its licensing obligations and statutory compliance
* A responsible key-holder tasked with opening and closing the business ensuring all safety precautions are taken.
* Making sure the business is ready for service, directing and helping staff to get the establishment prepared for the day's events and looking welcoming.
* Staff management, responsible for assisting in the employment as well as development of staff, both Management and Bar, providing training and support in order to expand their skill set and maximise performance in the workplace.
* Independently resolve any issues during a shift immediately and in the correct manner, including medical emergencies,
Experience / Job Requirements
* The Senior Event Manager must have previous management experience within an event venue (a minimum of two years).
* The Senior Event Manager must have prior knowledge of and be able to create Event Specific Risk Assessments where required.
* The Senior Event Manager will preferably have completed extensive training in the health and safety of customers/crowds (first aid training, ACT training etc)
* This role requires strong financial and administrative knowledge, including good use of excel, word etc.
* The Senior Event Manager must be focused and organised with good time management
* The role requires good bar experience and knowledge
* The Senior Event Manager must be adaptable and able to take on different managerial roles - people management, bar management, crowd management, security management etc.
* The Senior Event Manager must be able to remain calm under pressure whilst problem solving on the job.
* Flexibility – This role requires flexibility in terms of working patterns and shifts, we are open 7 days a week and expect the Senior Event Manager to embrace a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.

Pay: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
