We have a brilliant opportunity as a Nursery Practitioner to join our amazing Nursery onsite at Next head office in Enderby!
As a Nursery Practitioner level 3, you will work as part of the team providing high quality care, safety and stimulating play experiences to all individual children and their needs and help to implement the daily routine. In this role you will also get to observe, support and extend children’s learning, team work with other staff within the whole setting, liaise with parents promoting partnership and involvement, read and understand all relevant documentation.
About the role:
* Begin to plan activities using EYFS guidance appropriate to the individual child and their stage of development.
* Maintain records of achievement file for allocated key children.
* Work with parents of children with special needs to ensure full integration in the Nursery.
* Support other staff including students and be part of a good staff team.
* Attend required staff meetings and out-of-work social events at the nursery.
* Be flexible within nursery working practices. Be prepared to move rooms, help where needed, and undertake certain domestic jobs within the Nursery.
* Record accidents or incidents in the relevant books, ensuring parents signatures are obtained, and notify a Room leader.
* Use initiative to respond to the needs of children attending the setting.
* Ensure safeguarding of all children attending the setting.
* Respect confidentiality of received information as per policy. Uphold high standards both in and out of work.
* Develop your role within the team, especially as a key worker.
* Participate in all childcare procedures.
* Ensure children's nutritional needs are met and that mealtimes are social and manners are practiced.
* Maintain general cleanliness of children, including washing and changing as required.
* Provide comfort and warmth to unwell children.
* Assist children with resting/sleeping as needed.
* Ensure a high-quality environment meeting the needs of children from diverse backgrounds and stages of development.
* Be aware of health and safety responsibilities and adhere to procedures.
* Understand and follow child protection procedures to ensure children's safety.
About you:
* Gained or training towards a recognised nursery qualification (Level 2 or 3).
* Recognised qualification in English.
* Experience or training in working with children, staff, and parents/carers; knowledge of day care and EYFS curriculum.
* Awareness of planning for children in day care settings.
* Confident communication with parents/carers.
* Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
* Understanding of the role of the key person.
* Commitment to equality, partnership with families, high standards of service, and continuous improvement.
* Enthusiastic, innovative, and energetic.
* Willing to participate in hands-on nursery activities and work flexibly to meet service needs.
