An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our Forensic and Prison service in the Scottish Highlands.
Working alongside colleagues in Mental Health, Forensics, Prisons and Psychology you will take the lead on developing a robust and fit-for-purpose service for NHS Highlands. Knowledge of relevant policies and government initiatives is essential, as is experience in service development and staff management.
The role requires you to provide expert forensic psychological guidance, consultation, and support to interdisciplinary teams involved in formulation, diagnosis, and treatment plans for clients facing forensic issues. You will have experience performing risk assessments and managing risks for individual clients, making necessary adjustments to psychological interventions, and advising psychologists and other professionals on risk assessment and management strategies for relevant clients.
This role is hosted in Psychological Services and works into the Forensic and Prison Healthcare services in NHS Highland. As Consultant Psychologist you will attend the Psychology Senior Management meetings and contribute to the Psychology Service as a whole. The Psychology Service is a training department for the East and South of Scotland doctoral course in Clinical Psychology, the Dundee University CBT training course and the MSc in Applied Psychology for Stirling and Dundee Universities.

Qualifications
* Qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with registration and substantial experience in forensic psychology.
* Experience in service development and staff management.
* Ability to provide expert guidance and supervision to psychologists and other professionals; strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
* Knowledge of relevant policies and government initiatives.
* Experience conducting risk assessments and modifying psychological interventions as needed.
