Drug and Alcohol Support Worker – Post 16 – West Sussex We are urgently seeking experienced Support Workers specialising in drug and alcohol misuse to cover shifts across Post-16 Supported Living, Mental Health Units, Homeless Hostels, and Drug and Alcohol Recovery Units throughout West Sussex, including Brighton, Lewes, and surrounding areas. This role offers the opportunity to provide vital support to vulnerable young people and adults, both those actively using substances and those in recovery, within diverse care settings across West Sussex. Available shifts include early mornings, late evenings, long days, sleep-ins, and waking nights. Shift patterns can be arranged to provide continuity within a single project, or spread across multiple projects for greater flexibility and variety. Our current Support Workers appreciate the freedom to choose their working hours, whether fitting shifts around other commitments or relying on this role as their primary source of income. Candidate Requirements We are looking for individuals with experience in: Drug and alcohol recovery services Addiction support environments Supporting young people and adults with complex needs or similar backgrounds The ideal candidate will possess the emotional resilience, patience, and empathy necessary to work with individuals who have experienced trauma. Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain professional boundaries are essential, as service users may occasionally present challenging or unpredictable behaviour.
