Perinatal Clinical or Counselling Psychologist – Band 7, full-time, permanent

Job purpose
Join the Oxfordshire Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Team and Maternal Mental Health Service in a development role. Contribute to evidence-based treatments for perinatal patients across Oxfordshire, plus supervision, training and consultation. The role supports clinical leadership and service development, and supervision for junior staff.
Responsibilities
* Provide psychological assessment and intervention for adults with severe and/or complex mental health difficulties in the perinatal period and their families in outpatient, community and inpatient settings as required (may include digital technology).
* Supervise and support psychological assessments and interventions provided by assistant and trainee psychologists and other clinical team members.
* Provide ad hoc advice, consultation and supervision on clients\' psychological care to colleagues as delegated by the Principal Clinical Psychologist.
* Work toward the standards and responsibilities of a band 8a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, with progression to band 8a as development reviews permit.
You will excel at autonomous caseload management, governance of psychological practice within a multidisciplinary team, and use research skills for audit, policy and service development.
Qualifications and experience
* Essential: Qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist with relevant registration or final-year trainee within 3 months of qualifying.
* Desirable: Further training relevant to perinatal mental health; supervision, research methodology, staff training; CPD since qualifying; qualifications in therapy modalities such as DBT, EMDR, BCT, VIG.
* Experience: Psychological assessment, formulation and treatment; work with diverse client groups in various settings; perinatal mental health care and/or care of adults with severe/complex mental health needs (desirable).
Skills
* Complex/specialist methods of psychological assessment, formulation and treatment; effective communication of sensitive information; multidisciplinary teamwork and consultation.
* Teaching or training (desirable).
