Job Summary
The Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN) East of England, part of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), offers an exciting opportunity for a Research Delivery Practice Educator to join our team. The role focuses on enhancing research delivery skills and clinical competence of the RRDN Agile Research Delivery Team. Responsibilities include delivering research education, improving research and clinical skills, and working with partners across the region to identify skill gaps and design training programmes.
Main duties of the job
* Mentor new team members.
* Provide formal learning interventions and constructive feedback.
* Lead and manage research delivery practice education to ensure team capability.
* Establish and maintain effective relationships with host clinical education teams, regional educators, and delivery organisations.
* Advise on clinical governance, regulations, and safe training development.
* Deliver specialist research delivery practice and clinical skills training in line with host and sponsor requirements.
* Provide expert advice on research processes, clinical skills, and competencies across research delivery settings.

Job responsibilities
* Lead and manage the delivery of research and clinical skills training to the Agile Research Delivery Team.
* Provide expert guidance, mentorship, teaching and assessment assurance to staff.
* Motivate, enable and support staff in professional and personal development.
* Offer professional nursing/AHP leadership under the direction of the RRDN Health and Care Director.
* Adhere to NMC or HCPC Code of Professional Conduct and organisational policies.
* Maintain clinical skills such as venesection and drug administration.
* Build and maintain relationships with the host clinical education team and delivery organisations.
* Inform RDN about regional workforce needs and contribute to solution design with senior management.
* Assist in delivering local induction programmes for all RRDN staff, especially Agile members.
* Provide specialist advice on research processes and clinical competencies across settings.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
* Registered Nurse or AHP on the relevant professional register (NMC/HCSC).
* Postgraduate qualification (e.g., Post‑graduate Diploma) or equivalent experience indicating level 7 knowledge.
Essential Experience
* Extensive knowledge and experience of all aspects of the research process, research delivery practice, clinical skills, PI roles and competencies across all phases of clinical trials and other studies.
* Experience of teaching and mentorship.
* Expert knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), research governance and related regulations.
Essential Skills
* Ability to work collaboratively across organisations and geographically dispersed teams.
