Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our well-established Lung Nurse Team. You will assist the Clinical Nurse Specialists to implement Holistic Care Needs Assessments and care for patients affected by Lung Cancer from pre-diagnosis to transition to palliative care. The post holder will be required to work with senior staff to ensure that the patient and carer experience is central to every stage of their care pathway. The lung team offers clinical, social and emotional support using a holistic approach to each patient and their families. We are looking for a confident and dynamic team member with excellent communication skills and an interest in quality improvement and service development. The successful candidate will be a key support for the team, patients and their families. The right candidate will help deliver high standards of specialist cancer care for patients with cancer across DBTH. The role will provide the opportunity to develop your knowledge and education in lung cancer.

Responsibilities
* Assist the Clinical Nurse Specialists to implement Holistic Care Needs Assessments and care for patients with Lung Cancer from pre-diagnosis to transition to palliative care.
* Work with senior staff to ensure the patient and carer experience is central to every stage of the care pathway.
* Provide clinical, social and emotional support using a holistic approach for patients and their families.
* Contribute to high standards of specialist cancer care across DBTH and support service developments and quality improvements.
* Support the team, patients and families as a key point of contact and care coordination.
* Develop knowledge and education in lung cancer through the role.
