About the Opportunity

The Surveillance programme Engineer (Periodic Testing) is responsible for supporting the NNB Pre-Operations Surveillance Programmes Lead in the delivery of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) operational documentation and strategy for the delivery of the Periodic Testing Programme. The successful individual will be required to work with the team producing the periodic testing operations instructions (PTOI’s), as well as assist in the shaping and development of the processes required to deliver the Periodic Testing programme in the operational station. This includes analysis of technical documentation from the designer, such as technical drawings, specifications, and testing instructions. The role also will involve liaising with a wide range of stakeholders from across the NNB and wider organisation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct technical analysis of plant components and equipment.

2. Conduct analysis of technical documentation.

3. Assist in the development of the Surveillance Programme requirements for the operational station.

4. Conduct scheduling activities for the output of the Periodic Testing Surveillance programme.

5. Maintain interfaces and develop relationships (technical & functional) with other HPC departments EPR Family Stations and EDF Energy’s existing Nuclear Business.

6. Research operating experience from the wider industries applicable to the HPC project and promote its use and application to make HPC a World Class performer.

Education, Experience and Skills:

7. Minimum HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline.

8. Experience of document production

9. Experience of mechanical/electrical/C&I plant systems.

10. Be able to develop and follow procedures.

11. Able to develop work plans and deliver them safely and efficiently.

12. Have experience of working in a project environment.

13. Experience of dealing with a wide range of suppliers and customers (UK based and international).

14. Ability to read technical drawings.
