Data Governance Officer

£37,459 - £41,621 depending on experience.

Home based (with occasional travel to Worcester/Solihull office as required).

Permanent, Full Time.

If this sounds like you, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Governance Officer to join our Data Governance & Information Security team at Platform Housing Group, the largest social housing association in the Midlands.

As the Data Governance Officer you will support your team in providing assurance that the Group's data and information is managed securely, compliantly and is of a high quality. In this role, you will take the lead on the management of Data Rights requests, undertake comprehensive data breaches/incident investigations, and respond to and advise on enquiries received to the Team inbox or other IT systems.


What are we looking for?

* Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection or Freedom of Information and/or experience in a data governance role.
* Extensive experience in data governance roles (Data Protection, Freedom of Information, records management).
* Proven experience of developing and managing corporate relationships with colleagues.
* Operational experience managing sensitive and confidential corporate data.
* Proven experience of responding to customer data rights requests.
* Ability to simultaneously manage multiple data rights requests, cases and incidents.
* Good understanding of data control and GDPR implications.
* Experience in compliance work and reporting.
* Proven results and solutions driven mindset.
* Experience making evidence‑based decisions.
* Self‑motivated with good judgment and decision making to deliver against targets.
* Intermediate knowledge of MS Office suite including Teams and SharePoint.
