Our established manufacturing client is looking to appoint an experienced Purchasing & Materials Manager.
The Purchasing & Materials Manager will lead and mentor the Purchasing and Inventory Teams to ensure the supply of materials and services to the business, fostering a positive team culture.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Supporting the purchasing team to source, order and manage components and materials
Work closely with Suppliers to manage SLA's and on-time delivery
Maintain accurate stock levels of inventory and consigned stock
Ensuring the store's area is well organised and efficient
Oversee material flow to maintain optimal inventory levels that support on-time customer delivery
Work closely with colleagues across the business to ensure accurate planning and highlight any supply issues
Lead materials management projects
Determine and drive continuous improvement projects
Manage the QMS systemsKnowledge and experience required for the role:
Experience in leading and developing successful Supply Chain Teams (purchasing, inventory and warehousing)
Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments
Experience of using ERP/MRP systems, teamed with Excel Skills
Experience of working in a medical-accredited environment would be highly advantageous
Team player who will build strong working relationships with colleagues to support the growth and profitability of the business
