Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and talented Fashion Designer to join the team at Box Menswear in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity to design for a globally recognised menswear brand, focusing on underwear, sportswear, and loungewear.
Our customers are predominantly part of the LGBTQI+ community, and we celebrate creativity, inclusivity, and bold designs.
Box Menswear is a dynamic e-commerce brand specialising in men’s underwear and clothing. We pride ourselves on creating unique, high-quality designs and fostering a collaborative, fun, and forward-thinking work environment.
This role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) with an immediate start. We understand that the successful candidate may need to honour a reasonable notice period.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design innovative and stylish menswear, including underwear, swimwear, sportswear, and loungewear.
* Create detailed Tech Packs for overseas suppliers, ensuring clarity and precision.
* Communicate regularly with overseas suppliers regarding garment and sample amendments.
* Oversee the sampling process from concept to completion.
* Collaborate with the team to refine ideas and deliver standout collections.
* Conduct trend and market analysis.
* Ensure your designs are commercially viable within the brand’s positioning.
* Collaborate cross-functionally and leverage transferable skills, including graphic design, to represent the brand and translate designs into impactful digital formats.
What We Need From You:
* Passion for and experience in fashion design, ideally in men's apparel.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and working knowledge of InDesign.
* Experience in creating Tech Packs for suppliers.
* Collaborative and creative mindset.
* Positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
Desirable but Not Essential:
* Interest in the commercial aspects of fashion, including supplier relationships and negotiation.
* Keen interest in the global reach of your designs.
* Previous experience traveling to meet suppliers abroad.
* Basic knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel.
Why Join Us?
* Hybrid working (3 days in-office, 2 WFH).
* Flexible start times between 8am and 9am, with finish times between 4pm and 5pm.
* Potential international travel to supplier locations and trade shows.
* Small team environment with shared achievements.
* Creative, inclusive, and collaborative culture.
* Opportunities for growth and recognition.
* Competitive holiday package and staff discounts.
Additional Information:
* Full-time, hybrid role based in Speke, Liverpool, with free on-site parking.
* In-house designer position; freelance/self-employed candidates are not considered at this time.
* Role involves exposure to male bodies in underwear during product development and photoshoots.
* Initially the only Designer on the team, with potential for future team expansion.
We value capability and creativity over formal education and welcome candidates from all backgrounds. If interested, we look forward to hearing from you!
Box Menswear is an equal opportunity employer committed to inclusivity. Please inform us if you require accommodations during the application process.
This role will transition into a hybrid work model after an initial four-week in-office onboarding period, with flexible work arrangements thereafter.
