Job Description
3. Act as the primary operational interface between IT and the business, owning escalations and service issues
4. Monitor and manage IT service performance against KPIs and SLAs, driving continuous improvement
5. Lead service transition and transformation activities, ensuring continuity and adoption of best practice
6. Oversee IT procurement, supplier performance and contract management to ensure value for money
7. Manage IT budgets, including financial planning, cost control and business case development
8. Lead on IT and digital cybersecurity, compliance and governance, ensuring legislative and regulatory adherence
9. Implement and maintain IT service management frameworks including incident, problem, change and service desk operations
10. Build strong relationships with stakeholders to enable effective, secure use of technology
11. Develop and deliver the IT and digital strategy aligned to organisational objectives
12. Manage, motivate and develop IT staff, ensuring skills and capacity meet future demand
13. Oversee live streaming and associated technology for Council meetings, ensuring reliable delivery
The Successful Applicant
A successful IT Service Manager should have:
14. Significant experience managing IT Infrastructure and driving service levels
15. Proven leadership experience managing IT teams and service performance - including helpdesk management
16. Experience delivering IT service transition, transformation and supplier management
17. Strong knowledge of IT service management frameworks and best practice (e.g. ITIL)
18. Experience developing and delivering IT and digital strategy
19. Proven ability to manage IT budgets, procurement and contracts
20. Strong understanding of cybersecurity, compliance and IT governance
21. Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
22. Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage risk, change and performance
