Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management and accounting, with proficiency in various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero. As an Accounts Senior, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of client annual compliance routines while adhering to firm policies and procedures. Your key duties will involve reviewing financial statements, working papers, and statutory tax returns for a variety of clients, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing mentorship to junior staff members.
Duties
* Manage the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting standards for a variety of small to medium size businesses.
* Mentor and train junior accountants, fostering their professional development. .
* Utilise accounting software effectively to streamline operations and reporting.
* Reviewing client records and preparing draft financial statements, resolving queries directly with clients.
* Preparing and submitting tax computations and returns in line with statutory requirements.
Requirements
* Proven experience as an Accountant within practice.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly in financial accounting.
* Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero etc.
* Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Effective communication skills for liaising with various stakeholders across the organisation.
* Experience in mentoring or training staff is highly desirable.
* A relevant degree in Accounting would be advantageous, professional qualifications such as AAT would be essential and ACCA (Qualified or part-qualified) would be advantageous.
