Our client is looking for an Environmental Services Assistant to respond to environmental problems. Including illegally dumped commercial, household garbage, Filthy and verminous premises, animal carcasses and undertake clearance and cleaning as required. Purpose of role: To complete basic written records and weekly timesheets. Ability to follow written instructions. Carrying out of organised visits and revisits as instructed to maximise the efficiency of the section. Handling payments including cash and following correct financial procedures. Assist other officers in drainage investigations and assist in carrying out remedial work including the sealing of drains. Assist other officers as necessary. To respond to environmental problems, including illegally dumped commercial, household garbage, animal carcasses and undertake clearance as directed. To undertake collection, loading and disposal of condemned foodstuffs as directed. To undertake clearance/ cleaning/ disinfection of noxious, verminous or contaminated articles and premises including faeces, sharps in both vacant properties and occupied as directed To complete records and job cards to a satisfactory standard. To inspect and maintain equipment in line with existing procedures and to instruction. To drive client vehicles and carry out routine daily vehicle checks in line with existing procedures including refuelling. To undertake depot work, including cleaning and disinfection as directed. All duties and responsibilities should be carried out in accordance with agreed Client policies and procedures having regard to the Councils fundamental commitments to efficient service provision, promotion of Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety culture, a customer focused approach, good employee relations. Any other relevant duties and responsibilities as may arise. To undertake all duties and responsibilities in line with current Client Policies and Procedures, including those relating to health and safety; equalities, diversity and inclusion; safeguarding procedures; financial instructions; procurement and commissioning. To undertake any other duties in agreement with the post holder and manager.
