What You'll Do:
As a Lymphoedema Specialist Nurse, you will provide specialised adult care, focusing on patients with both primary and secondary (non-palliative) lymphoedema and lipoedema.
Your role will encompass:
* Conducting thorough assessments and developing tailored treatment plans.
* Managing and supporting patients on their journey to better health.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will develop specialist knowledge through supported education and supervision, underpinned by theory and experience, and will develop specialised programmes of care.
Exercise professional autonomy, acting as an expert practitioner demonstrating advanced clinical competence, decision-making, and knowledge.
Accept appropriate referrals for primary and non-palliative patients with lymphoedema needs from members of the Primary Health Care Team, hospital staff, hospice, and other professionals, as appropriate.
Following appropriate education, provide holistic assessments of patients, focusing on the assessment, treatment, and management of lymphoedema.

As a Lymphoedema Specialist Nurse, you’ll be part of our valued team.

Requirements include:
* Registered First Level Nurse on Part 1 of the NMC register
* Willingness to work towards a certificate in Complex Decongestive Therapy
* Experience of teaching and significant post-registration nursing experience in lymphoedema
* Willing to undertake specific training in therapeutic treatments for lymphoedema management
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Sound knowledge of current issues in lymphoedema and cancer care
* Experience managing budgets, such as compression garments
* Experience working in the community
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
* Strong organisational, time management, interpersonal, presentation, report writing, and clinical skills
* Excellent communication, professionalism, self-awareness, motivation, initiative, and the ability to manage own caseload
* Willingness to work in other areas of HCRG as required
