Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is crucial to Amazon's commitment to innovation. As a Senior RME Technician, you'll ensure our tools and technologies operate at peak performance by adopting new technologies and improving processes. You'll focus on maintaining high standards, implementing upgrades, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across our network.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure safe equipment operation and monitor team adherence to processes.
2. Track equipment performance through visual checks, condition monitoring, and scheduled maintenance.
3. Supervise technicians, support their development, and act as the first point of contact for Reliability Maintenance Engineers.
4. Resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime and optimize processing speed.
5. Identify and implement system improvements and standardize processes across the EU network.
A Day in the Life
Lead your shift team to ensure equipment availability and performance, monitor processes for compliance, and execute preventative maintenance to maximize uptime. You will suggest and implement efficiency improvements, monitor system performance with tools like SCADA, and collaborate with your line manager on administrative tasks. The role involves shift work, including weekends and nights, at one of our operational sites, with opportunities for career progression.
About the Team
The RME team maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment across Amazon's fulfillment centers worldwide. We work on installing automated systems, maintaining site infrastructure, and integrating cutting-edge technology like Amazon Robotics. Our goal is to reduce downtime and ensure timely delivery for customers. We operate during off-peak hours to minimize disruption and innovate continuously.
Basic Qualifications
* Full Engineering apprenticeship and/or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering.
* Experience in a technical leadership role.
* Experience with electrical and mechanical disciplines.
* Experience in automation or material handling environments.
* Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in multi-contractor and multi-site environments.
* Knowledge of PLC control systems and statutory compliance.
* Experience with computerized maintenance management systems.
* Degree in a technical or operational discipline is a plus.
