Overview
This is an exciting new role within the Blandford Community Mental Health Team seeking a registered Nurse Associate to join this well established MDT and provide excellent care to residents within the Dorset area. The role is part of an integrated health and social care team delivering care and recovery for patients experiencing difficulties with their mental health. The post offers interventions in a wide variety of clinical, therapeutic and social forms with the aim of promoting health, wellbeing, self-autonomy and independence. The post holder will have breadth of knowledge across the lifespan and across the fields of nursing, providing holistic and person-centred care. They will work effectively as part of a team and provide support and guidance to less experienced staff and student learners within the clinical environment as needed. The nurse associate will work independently under the leadership of the registered nurses, within all aspects of the nursing process.
Responsibilities
* Manage a defined group of patients/service users under the indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse, using evidence-based/client-centred principles to undertake a range of delegated tasks independently.
* Contribute to the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient/service user care.
* Take responsibility for planned/defined tasks as required.
* Plan and undertake clinical tasks guided by standard operating procedures and protocols.
* Delegate work to support worker staff and learners, as required.
* Supervise and line manage band 2/3 staff and undertake the ongoing supervision of the routine work of others.
* Take responsibility for the training of others and may be required to deliver training.
Qualifications and requirements
* Registered Nurse Associate with the ability to deliver care in line with NMC standards of proficiency.
* Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (Trust covers cost); DBS update service holders may present a valid certificate.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide guidance to less experienced staff and learners.
* Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centred care.
