The Environment Agency is committed to an inclusive workforce. We are establishing a Transformation Portfolio Management Office (PMO) to centralise the portfolio for change, transformation, and continuous improvement. We are seeking two Benefits and Efficiencies Analysts to join the team. The PMO supports change, transformation, and risk management across the portfolio and helps embed standards for benefits and value management.
This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in change and transformation with development opportunities and strong support from the team.
You will analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers to set the standards for benefits and value management and help embed them. You will help our teams identify, value, and validate project benefits.
The Portfolio Management Office (PMO) is part of the Transformation Team within the Strategy, Transformation and Assurance (STA) directorate and supports change and continuous improvement across the business. STA fosters inclusive, supportive cultures and uses evidence and innovation to influence policy and delivery.
Responsibilities
* Analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers to set and embed standards for benefits and value management.
* Identify, value, and validate project benefits.
* Support the transformation portfolio by shaping and optimising project selections and tracking benefits realization.
* Collaborate across organisational boundaries and build constructive relationships.
Qualifications and Experience
* Strong analytical skills with proven experience as a Benefits Analyst, Efficiencies Analyst, or Business Analyst.
* Experience building and maintaining dashboards or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel).
* Clear communication skills; ability to explain complex analysis to non-technical audiences.
* Self-motivation and adaptability; able to work independently or as part of a team.
* Experience producing guidance, toolkits, or frameworks to support colleagues.
* Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and actively consider diversity in work.
Additional Information
* You will have a national hybrid working location with an EA Office base.
* Some travel and overnight stays may be required; smart tools are used to stay connected and reduce travel.
