Job description
Our local authority client, is currently seeking a part-time Registered Valuer to join their team under contract. This role demands proficiency in estate management and will involve providing property and contractual advice, negotiating land and property transactions, and managing projects to meet corporate and service strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyse and provide property and contractual advice to implement corporate and service strategies.
2. Assist service departments in implementing operational strategies at all levels.
3. Propose property solutions within programme and budget, according to corporate policy and project requirements.
4. Negotiate land and property transactions, monitoring outcomes and instigating control.
5. Direct and motivate project teams, ensuring adequate resourcing and budgetary provisions.
6. Monitor and report project progress, ensuring successful delivery.
7. Identify and exploit opportunities to maximise effective use of land and property assets.
8. Provide specialist professional knowledge and support to all Estates staff.
9. Represent the County Council, presenting its policies, property projects, and strategies at various levels.
10. Determine the amount to be paid by the County Council for acquiring, selling, or leasing land and property.
11. Recognise and act upon emerging opportunities for better property portfolio performance.
12. Manage budgets, select appropriate contractors, and maintain property under management.
Job Requirements:
13. Ability to analyse property and contractual issues and provide actionable recommendations.
14. Proficiency in negotiating land and property transactions.
15. Project management skills, including team direction and resource allocation.
16. Strong communication skills and the ability to represent policies and strategies effectively.
17. Knowledge of budget management and contractor selection.
18. Understanding of medium-term reorganisation proposals for property assets.
