Contract & job type: Fixed term for 12 months from 01 October 2026

At the Department of Physiology Anatomy & Genetics (DPAG) we undertake discovery science where we reassemble physiological processes at the molecular, cellular, tissue and systems level of organisation. In so doing we provide a bridge to translational medicine, and interface between physical and life sciences. Overview of the role

The Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics and Corpus Christi College seek to appoint a Departmental Lecturer to engage in advanced study and lecture and teach undergraduate students, to take a leading role in college teaching and admissions at Corpus Christi College, and to conduct some independent research that dovetails with the teaching remit, broadly related to physiology.


Key responsibilities

* Deliver and support teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate students (lectures, tutorials, supervision, assessment) across department and college.
* Develop course materials, including lectures, reading lists, and guides.
* Assess university examinations.
* Support student welfare, performance, and conduct, referring issues where needed.
* Organise aspects of the Physiology syllabus.


Selection criteria

* Postgraduate qualification in a relevant biomedical field completed at PhD or MD level
* An aptitude for teaching and demonstrable experience in teaching, supported by a track record of subject‑relevant research
* Sufficient depth and breadth of knowledge in the subject of physiology and pharmacology to deliver and develop course materials
* Experience of creating collaborative and inclusive environments with people from different backgrounds.
