Our client is seeking a UK Retail Director to lead the launch of their first UK boutique (opening April/May next year), followed by a second opening within a luxury department store later down the line.
This pivotal role will act as the bridge between the UK and HQ in Europe, managing the boutique setup, driving the UK retail strategy, and establishing the brand in a new market. The position combines strategic leadership with hands-on boutique management, making it ideal for a dynamic and experienced luxury retail leader.
The UK Retail Director will be responsible for:
* Leading the successful launch and ongoing management of the boutique and future Harrods location
* Building and mentoring a high-performing team (Deputy Manager + 4 Sales Associates)
* Maximising sales performance and client development
* Coordinating with HQ on operations, architecture, and brand strategy
* Acting as a key figure in establishing the brand within the UK luxury market
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets
* Monitor performance, analyse trends, and identify growth opportunities
* Build and leverage a strong client book and CRM strategy
* Ensure the delivery of exceptional client experience
* Recruit, train, and motivate boutique staff to achieve excellence
* Lead by example and foster a culture of collaboration and performance
* Conduct reviews, set objectives, and support professional growth
* Oversee all aspects of boutique operations, including inventory, VM, and loss prevention
* Coordinate boutique setup and construction with HQ
* Ensure compliance with company policies and operational standards
* Manage expenses within budget
* Cultivate relationships with UHNWIs, personal shoppers, and hotel partners
* Drive client acquisition through networking and in-store experiences
* Support and oversee exclusive events and activations
* Represent the brand with integrity and professionalism
Experience required:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in luxury retail management, ideally with jewellery expertise
* Proven experience opening boutiques or leading in a new market
* Established networks in the UK luxury market (hotels, personal shoppers, HNW clients)
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and teach a team
* Track record of exceeding sales targets and building loyal client bases
* Commercially astute, results-driven, and operationally hands-on
* Highly polished, professional, and passionate about luxury retail
The role is paying £85,000-£90,000 basic per annum + a 20% bonus and offers some fantastic company benefits.
