Lab Assistant required on a full time, temporary basis for a Client in Tyne & Wear.
Job Purpose-
To assist with the provision of accredited analytical laboratory services to departments in the business.
To provide assistance in obtaining and maintaining UKAS accreditation
To assist with the collection and collation of data used to produce daily, weekly and monthly reports to management in line with agreements
Duties within the role-
· Assist with the analysis of samples submitted to the laboratory using instrumental and wet chemistry techniques, with subsequent reporting of results to internal or external customers
· Maintenance of laboratory sample prep equipment.
· Preparation of samples prior to analysis
· To follow laboratory’s sample reception procedures in respect of IBA samples.
· Accurately record data and enter onto the laboratories database
· Completion of laboratory worksheets in an accurate and timely manner.
· Work in accordance with Company Policies & Procedures for H&S and Quality as well as the laboratory’s UKAS accreditation
· Plan and prioritise the workload on a day to day basis to meet customer requirements
Successful candidates will get full training but must have experience with data entry and be confident with Microsoft Excel.
Full PPE will be provided.
Hours are Monday- Friday 37.5 hours per week
