JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Student Loan Manager plays a central role in helping WPI students access the funding they need to succeed through federal, state, institutional, and private loan programs.
We welcome applicants with backgrounds in banking, lending, or financial services. Relevant, transferable experience in areas such as compliance, customer counseling, and financial analysis will be considered in place of direct financial aid experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Loan Program Administration
1. Manage federal loan processing end-to-end, including eligibility, origination, certification, disbursement, error resolution, and borrower requirements
2. Review and process Parent and Graduate PLUS Loan applications, including approvals, denials, and all required actions
3. Serve as liaison between students, the U.S. Department of Education, and private lenders to resolve issues and ensure accurate loan records
4. Reconcile federal loan disbursements between COD and the institutional student information system, including month-end and year-end closeout
5. Collaborate with the Bursar and Finance Office to ensure accurate cash receipt posting and account reconciliation
Massachusetts No Interest Loan (MA NIL)
6. Conduct outreach to eligible students and assist with required loan documentation
7. Generate promissory notes and disclosure statements and manage submission to the State
8. Perform monthly reconciliation between State and WPI records
Student Counseling and Financial Aid Packaging
9. Counsel students and families on federal, private, and alternative financing options
10. Package financial aid forgraduatesand summer students based on FAFSA data, enrollment status, and federal requirements
11. Serve as primary contact for graduate financial aid inquiries and liaise with Graduate Admissions
Qualifications
12. Bachelor's degree required; significant relevant experience considered
13. Twoor more years in loan processing, financial aid, or a related field
14. Preference forworking knowledge ofTitle IV federal financial aid regulations or banking and loan regulations
15. Experience withstudent information,bankingor loansystems; PowerFAIDS familiarity a plus
16. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to manage competing priorities
Salary Grade 6: $55,000 - $60,000 per year (depending on experience)
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
