Overview
Due to continued growth and project successes, we are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager to join our Energy Division. The Contracts Manager will oversee a portfolio of critical infrastructure projects throughout the UK, predominantly delivering large civil engineering projects on substation and/or compressor stations. The Contracts Manager will be based at our Head Office in Southampton, visiting sites under your control on a weekly basis. A typical week would likely comprise of 2 days in the office, 2 days on site and 1 day at home. Reporting to the Framework Manager, duties include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
* Oversee up to 3 projects at any one time
* Work closely with the Head of SHEQ to ensure the highest standards of safety, updating on environmental issues, and ensuring quality
* Manage and support the Project Managers on each project, providing guidance to ensure delivery excellence
* Provide thorough commercial and programme support
* Work with the Bid team, leading bid activity to produce tenders for projects within the Energy Division
* Lead innovation and compliance on all contracts
* Work closely with the commercial team, designers, planners, and site teams
* Client interface; attend regular meetings with the client and report on design and project completion timelines
* Provide effective monthly reporting to the Framework Manager
Qualifications
* BEng/HND in Civil Engineering
* A minimum of 2 years of working in a Contracts Manager role
* Working knowledge of NEC suite of contracts
* A proven track record of securing and delivering large civil engineering projects
* CSCS card
* Full UK Driving Licence & willing to travel to project sites
* A background of delivering projects within a substation environment would be advantageous but not essential
Desired Qualifications / Skills
* Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution is desirable
* BEng in relevant engineering discipline (civil, mechanical, electrical) is essential
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
* Full driving licence is essential
