Overview
Customer Delivery Driver - Bedford Extra role at Tesco. Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location. It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week; there are opportunities to work fewer hours (minimum 12) as well.
As the face of Tesco out on the road, you will deliver to customers' homes across a wide area. This role is about delivering great service with a smile and helping customers, not just driving. You will work with a flexible schedule within available windows and will receive three weeks’ notice of your shifts.
Responsibilities
* Deliver your part of the customer shopping trip, ensuring the van and trays are clean, tidy, and organized.
* Leave the customer’s property and yard clean, tidy and free of rubbish; pick up litter as needed.
* Wash and upkeep trays as part of the tray wash process and ensure the van is loaded and roadworthy.
* Communicate with customers about changes to orders, substitutions, and refunds where necessary.
* Safeguard products/deliveries as if they were your own and deliver within the customer’s time slot.
* Call the customer before arriving if you are early and call the store if you will be more than 30 minutes late.
Qualifications
* A valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
* Warm, friendly interactions with customers and colleagues; ability to work with a team while maintaining a level of independence.
* Ability to respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace store changes.
