About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Wakefield, a category A Prison located in West Yorkshire.
Hours
7 day service. Monday-Friday 08:00-18:00, Saturday-Sunday 08:30-16:30. Weekend duties and bank holidays are shared across the team.
Salary
£23.83 per hour.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Work within a multi‑disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options
* Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed
* Assess patients’ health needs using an evidence‑based framework and be able to risk assess using sound clinical knowledge
* Work with individuals providing advice, support and information and manage a case load of patients
* Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference
* Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required
* Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
* Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence‑based care
* Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi‑disciplinary teams and supporting each other to do a great job

Qualifications
* Qualified Mental Health Nurse – NMC registration
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Experience of working with patients face‑to‑face who have complex mental health conditions
* Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work, and awareness of substance misuse
