About the Role
As a Paralegal in our Marine team, you’ll support fee earners on a range of marine insurance claims and related matters. You’ll assist with case management, drafting, and client communication, while gaining exposure to both technical legal work and client‑facing responsibilities. This role offers a great opportunity to build your experience in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, with plenty of scope to learn and develop.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
* Supporting the management of a caseload of marine insurance claims.
* Assisting with document management, including preparing bundles and maintaining files.
* Drafting legal documents and correspondence.
* Advising clients in writing, over the phone, and in meetings where appropriate.
* Managing client expectations and maintaining strong client relationships.
* Conducting legal research and contributing to case strategy.
* Identifying and escalating potential issues to supervisors.
* Responding to new client enquiries and supporting cross‑referral opportunities.
* Assisting with business development and marketing activities where required.
* Ensuring compliance with firm‑wide procedures and regulatory requirements.
* Keeping up to date with developments in marine law and legal practice.

* Previous experience in a legal or professional services environment (paralegal experience desirable).
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
