Job Description Are you an experienced team leader with a background in FMCG, logistics, or food production? Join a forward-thinking, 24/7 operation at the heart of the supply chain industry as a Shift Supervisor. You’ll play a vital role in overseeing day-to-day operations and driving team performance within a high-volume, fast-paced, and automated facility. Your Role: As Shift Supervisor, you’ll take full ownership of operational performance during your shift. Leading a team of up to 20 operatives and agency staff, you’ll be responsible for delivering service, safety, and efficiency targets—keeping the operation running smoothly from inbound to dispatch. Key Responsibilities: Full responsibility for site operations during your 12-hour shift Lead, manage, and motivate a team of warehouse and production operatives Conduct daily safety checks, shift briefings, and quality audits Maintain HSE and company policy compliance at all times Plan and allocate labour to meet fluctuating production demands, especially during peak times Manage stock control, cycle counts, and system reporting Monitor machinery performance, escalate issues, and support light troubleshooting (basic engineering knowledge desirable) Coordinate with internal departments, suppliers, and customers to ensure seamless communication Complete accurate shift reports and performance tracking Handle HR duties: return-to-work interviews, absence tracking, holiday planning, and basic performance management What You’ll Bring: Experience in a supervisory role within logistics, production, FMCG, or food-related industries Confident leading both permanent and temporary/agency teams Strong understanding of health & safety (HSE) policies and compliance Able to work effectively in a 24/7 operation, especially in high-pressure or peak periods Familiarity with automated systems and machinery (some engineering insight is a plus) Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English Comfortable using IT systems including Excel, Word, Teams, and warehouse/production software Desirable (not essential): IOSH or NEBOSH qualification HACCP awareness Formal training in operations, production, or team leadership Why Apply?
