The role is based at Launceston Community Hospital with a flexible working approach to support other hospitals in the locality as service needs require. The post requires Early, Late and Night duties on a rotational basis to support 24 hour nursing care, 7 days per week.
Main duties of the job
* The assessment of care needs and the development and implementation of programmes of care in the ward setting
* To be a team leader and provide all forms of nursing care without direct supervision
* To provide mentorship to pre and post registration students and Healthcare Assistants undertaking the National Vocational Awards
* Launceston Community Hospital offers services focusing on assessment, rehabilitation and palliative care

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
* RGN 1st Level Registration
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Evidence of team working
Desirable:
* ENB or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification
* Experience of working within a community hospital and in care of the elderly
* Leadership skills
* First Degree or Diploma (or working towards)
Personal Qualities, Skills and Aptitude
* Ability to work shifts to meet the needs of the service
* Flexibility to meet service needs
* Well organised, confident, aware of limits of role, and understanding NHYS changes
* Ability to undertake training as required
