Leicestershire Music is seeking an enthusiastic and committed cello teacher to deliver 1:1 and paired lessons, support after school activities, and offer support on a Saturday morning when required. This is a fixed-term contract role offering a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on young musicians.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
* Teach 1:1 and paired cello lessons
* Support after school clubs and Saturday morning ensembles when required
* Collaborate with a forward-thinking and dynamic music instrumental team
* Experience in teaching cello across a range of abilities, particularly beginners
* Confident in starting and leading a beginner cello club
* Be enthusiastic, innovative, and a strong communicator
* Teaching beginner double bass would be an advantage
A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

About You

* Teach to a high standard
* Plan and prepare high-quality lessons, rehearsals, performances, and music examination entries, including developing resources and preparing music as required
* Assess, keep accurate records, and report on pupils’ progress to stakeholders
* Ensure good discipline and behaviour, considering pupils’ health, safety, and well-being
* Comply with all policies and procedures related to safeguarding, child protection, data protection, and health and safety
* Promote equality and actively seek to prevent discrimination in line with Leicestershire Music’s policies
* Manage and protect information securely, reporting breaches in line with Council policies
You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity, and inclusion, and be able to demonstrate these qualities during the selection process.
