We are a popular 11‑18 mixed comprehensive school noted for its caring and disciplined atmosphere. The school was judged as a ‘good’ school by Ofsted in December 2023 and is committed to raising standards of learning and teaching across all subject areas.
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of English to join a highly successful and well‑qualified team. The successful candidate will start in September 2026 (or earlier if the position is filled sooner). In 2025, the English Department achieved high levels of success at KS4, and is extremely proud of its collaborative approach to planning, delivery and assessment.
Responsibilities:
* Teach English to students across KS3 and KS4 and support their development of literacy and communication skills.
* Plan, deliver and assess lessons in line with national curriculum and school expectations.
* Collaborate with colleagues in the department on curriculum design, assessment methods and professional learning.
* Engage parents and the wider school community in supporting student progress.
Qualifications:
* Qualified teacher of English; experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) welcome.
* Strong subject knowledge and evidence of effective teaching across KS3/KS4.
