SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Bordesley Green, Birmingham, B9 Pay Rate: £105 - £115 per day Contract: Full-time, long-term with the potential to become permanent Start Date: ASAP Long Term Futures are working with a welcoming primary school in Bordesley Green (B9) who are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist Resource Base. This provision supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), non-verbal communication needs (NV), and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. The role will involve providing 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils to access learning, build independence, and regulate their emotions. This is a long-term placement with the opportunity for the right candidate to secure a permanent role. Key Responsibilities Provide tailored support for pupils with ASD, NV and SEMH needs Use communication strategies such as PECs, Makaton, and visual timetables Work alongside teachers and the SENCo to deliver individual learning plans Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and emotional well-being Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environmentCandidate Requirements Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN, ideally in a school setting Knowledge of strategies for supporting ASD, non-verbal needs, and SEMH A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach Ability to work as part of a team with teachers, parents, and external professionals Relevant TA qualification or strong SEN experience (desirable)Why Work with Long Term Futures?
