Element has an opportunity for a Senior Cyber Engineer to join our growing Cyber Engineering Services.
A successful candidate will have a solid foundation as a security engineer, responsible for securing complex global environments and designing scalable security solutions. Expertise in application, cloud, and infrastructure domains is essential.
This hybrid role involves designing and implementing secure technical solutions to defend against cyber threats, focusing on detection engineering within Element's security tooling.
Core Responsibilities
1. Assist in designing and implementing security solutions and tools to address vulnerabilities and automate tasks.
2. Plan, implement, and manage the security operations tooling roadmap.
3. Engineer, manage, monitor, and upgrade cybersecurity infrastructure and technologies.
4. Create and maintain detection rules to identify suspicious activities.
5. Develop and optimize SIEM event correlation rules and logic.
6. Support transitioning project deliverables into operational services.
7. Develop new security tools for vulnerability mitigation and automation.
8. Maintain design documentation and procedures.
9. Conduct security checks and troubleshooting.
10. Prepare operational procedures and protocols.
11. Collaborate with the Cyber Defence team to uphold security practices.
12. Support incident response efforts.
13. Assist in operational and management reporting.
Skills / Qualifications
* Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a belief in “Security as an enabler”.
* Strong intellectual agility and adaptability.
* Expertise in at least one security domain: Platform Protection, Network Architecture, or Cloud Security.
* Ability to review and provide input on designs, reports, and standards.
* Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical findings for non-technical audiences.
* Thorough understanding of current security principles and trends.
* Experience with networking in multi-site, multinational environments.
* Knowledge of security technologies like NDR, FW, IPS, IDS, EDR, MDR, DAST, SAST, IAM, SIEM, SOAR, log management.
* Experience in cyber defense operations.
* Previous experience as a Cyber Security Engineer or related roles.
* Experience working internationally and across cultures.
* Proactive communication skills.
* Interest or experience in working within complex, federated organizations.
* Interest or experience in infrastructure and application support.
