We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) to lead the strategic development and implementation of our SEND policy and provision across a diverse range of learning opportunities.
About the Role:
As our SENDCo, you will play a pivotal role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for children (post 16), young people (CYP), and adults with SEND. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Strategic Leadership: Developing and implementing a sustainable, high-quality SEND offer, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
2. Policy and Procedure Development: Creating and maintaining robust policies and procedures that support learners with SEND.
3. Learner Support: Coordinating and providing tailored support for learners with SEND, fostering an environment where they can thrive.
4. Collaboration and Communication: Liaising effectively with learners, tutors, parents, partners, and external agencies to ensure seamless support and communication.
5. Intervention and Strategy Development: Designing and delivering stimulating learning interventions and strategies to meet individual learning needs.
6. Tutor Support and Training: Providing tutors with expert advice, guidance, resources, and training to enhance their SEND provision.
7. Cross-Provision Coordination: Working across OCSW and subcontracted provision to facilitate and support the SEND offer across various programmes, including 16-19, Adult Education, Apprenticeships, Access, and Supported Internships.
8. Inclusive Curriculum Promotion: Collaborating with staff, learners, partners, and employers to ensure effective and sustainable support, promoting ambitious and inclusive curriculums.
9. Relationship Building: Establishing professional, supportive, and caring relationships with learners to meet their individual learning needs.
