Band 5 Jessie May Children's Nurse providing specialist palliative and respite care to children and young people in their homes across Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire. Part‑time (25.5 h per week), requires a valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities
* Provide safe and effective respite care for children on the BSW Jessie May caseload, following child‑specific care plans.
* Maintain clinical skills and competency in complex health needs: tracheostomy management, enteral feeding, seizure management, long‑term ventilation, oral suction, nursing observation and assessment.
* Follow emergency procedures and guidelines for the child or young person receiving care.
* Administer medication in line with medicines administration charts and service policy.
* Assist with dressing, undressing, personal hygiene, toileting in a sensitive manner, encouraging independence within capability.
* Place the child and family at the centre of all care, ensuring their wishes are respected and their voice heard.
* Provide empathetic emotional support, actively listening to children and families.
* Keep records of all care and observations in accordance with HCRG Care Group policy.
* Identify the need for additional emotional support and communicate this to the care team and Jessie May team.
* Recognise need for specialised bereavement support and, in partnership with the Bereavement lead, provide appropriate support.
* Participate in service evaluation and development.
Qualifications
* Professional registration as a nurse.
* Experience in children’s palliative care.
* Commitment to continuing professional development.
